Join in UA’s National Compliance Week Events

National Compliance Week is next week, November 4–8. It’s a great chance for University of è employees to boost their awareness of institutional compliance. This week highlights the core principles of compliance, ethical conduct, and related risk mitigation strategies.
We encourage all employees to use this time to better understand their individual compliance responsibilities. This includes having conversations with supervisors to clarify the specific compliance expectations of your role, consider efficient strategies for maintaining compliance, and identifying applicable laws, Board of Regents policies, è regulations, and role-specific training.
UA’S NATIONAL COMPLIANCE WEEK ACTIVITIES:
Monday, November 4:
- Kick off the week with a Digital Scavenger Hunt! Test your knowledge of compliance and earn the chance to win a $20 Amazon gift card.
- Watch for your invitation to the UA Confidential Hotline pulse survey. Completing the survey is a positive step towards fulfilling your compliance responsibilities and helping us enhance the UA Confidential Hotline for everyone.
Tuesday, November 5:
- Everyone: Check out the
- Supervisors: last week you received an invite to join a discussion today focused on your compliance responsibilities as managers and directors. For more information, contact ua-compliance@alaska.edu.
Wednesday, November 6:
- Check out the Compliance Tips & Best Practices infographic—a helpful, easy-to-read resource that’s perfect for posting and quick reference. Designed to simplify and clarify key compliance guidelines, you can also request a hard copy to be mailed to you for convenient posting.
Thursday, November 7:
- WIN with Compliance! Nineteen have been released since December 2022.
- Join the Board of Regents’ Audit and Finance Committee meeting to hear an update on UA’s compliance efforts.
Friday, November 8:
- Winners of both the Digital Scavenger Hunt and “Pick your Favorite Chat” will be selected and contacted.
UA’s commitment to compliance goes beyond avoiding violations. Our proactive efforts reduce risks and foster a culture of continual improvement in compliance and ethics.
Remember, if you ever come across something that seems suspicious or out of place, talk to your supervisor, or, in the case of a potential crime, contact law enforcement. If you’re uncomfortable reporting through your reporting line, you can always use the confidential and anonymous UA Confidential Hotline.
