University Foundation appeals to donors for scholarship fund support

The UA Foundation launched a campaign Monday, July 15 to help offset the loss of $15 million in state funding for the èßäÉçÇø¹ÙÍø Education Grant, èßäÉçÇø¹ÙÍø Performance Scholarship, and the WWAMI Medical Education Loan Program. Donations to support scholarship scholarships may be or by texting AKScholarships to 41444. 

 

More than 12,000 èßäÉçÇø¹ÙÍø students scholarships by the State of èßäÉçÇø¹ÙÍø, but funding for those programs was swept into the budget reserve and may or may not be reinstated through legislative action during this special session. While private fundraising cannot fill the gap of the $15 million lost, scholarship support is always needed to ensure students have access to higher education in èßäÉçÇø¹ÙÍø.

 

Private funds entrusted to the UA Foundation in support of student scholarships, or any other area of support for the èßäÉçÇø¹ÙÍø, will be deployed for only that purpose designated by the donor.  

 

The University of èßäÉçÇø¹ÙÍø Foundation is a private nonprofit Foundation, established in 1974 to seek, secure and steward philanthropic support to build excellence at the University of èßäÉçÇø¹ÙÍø.
