She graduated from UAF with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 2003, and then graduated from UAF with an A.A.S. for Information Technology Specialist in 2007.  Pittman began working at the Statewide Office of Audit and Consulting Services as an assistant auditor and held the position of information systems auditor prior to becoming the Chief Audit Executive and director for Audit and Consulting Services.
 
Pittman has also achieved the following professional certifications:
2015 Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
2007 Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
2006 Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
